The new Santa Clara fire substation is a branch of the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Once members are trained, they hope to have a 6 to 10 minute response time. Currently 7 members are training with Carl Steffen, a licensed fire instructor. They will not be able to enter buildings or handle emergencies indoors until further training. The station will feature EMT’s and nurses who will cover the situation before an ambulance arrives. This new substation will possible give residents a 20 to 25 percent reduction in their home and fire insurance policy. Read Article and Read Article
